Most people would agree that children tend to be more fearless when it comes to new things; anything from meeting someone or accomplishing a dare, kids just do it! And then as we grow up and adventure through life, either through common sense or mistakes that you make in life, we get cautious. We build walls and stop ourselves short constantly and then live with the "what if's?" or "that was a close call" for WEEKS afterwards! Being put in an unrehearsed position, can cause high bouts of anxiety for me and I am sick and tired of it. I was fearless as a kid and I need to get back to that fearless, nutty, giant adventure type of spirit so that is what I challenged myself with this summer. Naming this hot season as my "Fearless summer," I am on a quest to throw caution to the wind, jump in the fast lane, have no excuses and to conquer new uncertainties. Who knows if I am ready. I don't feel ready. But then again that is where the fearless part comes in.
My first fearless challenge: Salsa dancing lessons.
